Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, and Fruit Trees
WOW! What a LONG day. We had to wake up early to drive Chris to work, so we got an early start. We spent 3 1/2 hours at Cocoa Beach. The kids had a lot of fun, especially collecting seashells. Then, we went over to the Kennedy Space Center. We didn't take the tour, it was WAY too expensive, but we did get to see the sights from a distance, including where NASA sets off the space shuttles. On the way home we found a citrus farm. We stopped, but they were closed since fruit season is in the fall. However, the grounds man was there and gave us our own little tour. We were able to see Orange trees, with green oranges, they will eventually be orange, of course. We also saw banana trees, tangerine trees, grapefruit trees, and more! It was great! We picked up Chris from work and went to Polla Tropical, a healthy tropical fast food restaurant. The food was interesting, not bad, but not something I would want to eat daily. There were bananas in my soup, and I tried a weird vegetable I can't pronounce the name of. But the chicken was delicious! Especially with the guava BBQ sauce. It was very interesting! This evening when we got back to the hotel it started to rain. The only rain we got all day! We had a wonderful day!
