Yes, it's that time of year again! The children were able to try out their modest rash guard swim suits for the first time. I only got to snap a few shots, I was too busy chatting I forgot to take pictures! By the time I remembered I had my camera, the children were so cold they didn't want to get back in. Once the pool warms up, I won't be able to get them out.

This past weekend, Chris and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. Several of our friends took one or two our children, and Chris and I were able to get away just the two of us, for two days and nights. We didn't go far, but we had a lot of fun, and did a lot! Thanks to all who watch our blessings.

I am always looking for ways of being more frugal and to avoid chemicals. A couple weeks ago, at Aldi's, I picked up Nellies Dryer Balls. They say they soften your laundry "naturally" without chemicals. They also claim "their will be less lint, your towels will be more absorbent, and they will reduce your drying time by 25%". I have been using them this past week, and they seem to work okay. I have notice less lint. But really haven't paid attention to their other claims. Our laundry does lack that smell you get from dryer sheets, but that is the point of the dryer balls. (no chemicals, they do sell balls that you can add essential oils too, for a nice smell) I haven't notice static with the dryer balls either. So, will I contiue to use these balls or recommend them? Yes, I will continue to use them, especially on my cloth diapers. I still have some dryer sheets and may use them when washing sheets to give them that "smell". But otherwise these work fine. They do sometimes get "lost" in the laundry. But if your folding your laundry right away, it isn't that big of a deal. I bought mine for the bargin of $6.00 at Aldi's. But Nellies sells them on their website for $19.99 plus shipping. Check them out on their site...

Today was Caleb's Star Wars Birthday Party. It was really a play date with watermelon and light sabers. The boys were able to get together, run around, and play star wars. And then eat watermelon. Caleb also opened gifts from his friends. The boys all had a blast.

Caleb turned 7 years old yesterday. He enjoyed picking all our meals yesterday. For dinner last night Caleb was excited to pick cereal for dinner. Cereal is a special occassion in this house. The kids only eat it a few times a year, since it's processed. For Caleb's birthday cake, we had watermelon. It was a healthy choice for dessert. After dinner and watermelon, Caleb opened his gifts. To end the evening we watched a movie before bed. Caleb really enjoyed his day, however, he is looking forwards to his upcoming party with friends this coming Saturday.
