Bike Race and Camping

This past weekend Chris rode in a bike race in Boone, NC. This is a crazy ride full of extreme hills. Basically, Chris rode up the mountain for 50 miles on the most crazy roads, full of twists and turns. He did a great job and surpassed all his expectations by completing in just under 3 hours. Chris placed 74th out of 500 people who finished the race. There were also people who didn't finished the race, either because they gave up, or they crashed. Great job honey!

While in Boone, our family decided to take advantage of the weekend and go camping. We spent two nights sleeping in the cool mountains (0kay it was cold not cool) having a fire both nights. We were able to make some yummy vegan treats. Mountain pies filled with cherries, vegan soy dogs, and roasting zucchini, onions, peppers, and squash over the open fire! Yummy! The children also enjoyed exploring the creek that ran right by our camp site. To end our trip, we were able to visit Hickory OPC on Sunday morning. Here are the photos from our trip.

Pool Days!!!

After the children finish their chores and lessons for the day, we love to go hang out at our pool. There is never anyone their between 12 noon and 2pm, which just happens to be the best time for us to go. It really makes the little ones sleepy, which is prefect before nap time!

Blessed Again

Yes... we are expecting!

Our 7th blessing is due Feb. 24, 2010.

VA Home Educators Conference

As many of you know, we have been Home Educating for three years and will soon begin our fourth. A few weeks ago, I was able to attend my first home educators conference. Many have asked, why the VA conference, since we live in NC. The reason was because my friend and I wanted to see Dr. Voddie Baucham speak. We were blessed by many of the speakers and took home tons of information. Not to mention, a wonderful new writing curriculum! My friend and I were able to leave our children with their fathers and enjoy a weekend away, at the Hilton, learning valuable information about how to better educate our children. Here are a few shots of our weekend, however, most of our time was sitting in sessions learning.

Reily and Hannah

Our nephew is only a month older than Hannah. They are so cute together. Since they only see each other every so often, I am always sure to get lots of photos. Enjoy!

On our visit with Chris' family, the children spent a lot of time on the trampoline. In fact, we all had fun. Enjoy the photos.
