New Years Day

Here is a photo of our Dinner on New Years Day. Seitan Ribs (fake meat), Sauerkraut, and Mashed Potatoes, yum!

Is your sauerkraut homemade? I've only attempted to make it once, but it didn't seem to turn out. No one would eat it! I want to get some healthy bacteria into everyone (it will help with our immunity) and will have some cabbage left over from another recipe. I want to give it another go.

This stuff isn't, but I have made my own. When I made it, we all got a ton of gas after eating it, but everyone loved it! I used canning jars. Just shredded cabbage in my food processor and added salt (I didn't measure, just sprinkled a some salt, then cabbage, salt then cabbage. Then I put the lid on the canning jars and three days later, wonderful kraut! Yummy! And YES healthy bacteria.
